About Me

My name is Ziad Cassim (first name pronounced as Ziyad). I am a South African citizen. My parents are also South African citizens, born in South Africa.  I was born into this world on the 21st of August 1973 in the city of Durban. Durban is an African city in the province of Kwazulu Natal along South Africa’s east coast. I now live inland, in the province of Gauteng, in a suburb to the north of Johannesburg city.

Personally and Socially...

I value truth, integrity and principles and I prefer to independently network with people on principle. I am a process driven person looking to unravel the machinery of the ego within and the world without. Happiness is sought in truth.

I prefer books and the internet in place of regularly watching television. I stutter in my speech when I am nervous. It feels as though the words are stuck in my chest. Someone once suggested to me to start a blog. Blogging is good. I read blogs but I decided against starting my own blog.

Work and Activity...

I am a researcher and non-fiction writer. I spend my days at home and my daily activities include reading, research, prayers and writing.

My research focuses on phenomena towards understanding the fundamental laws of nature. Branch areas of research include: symmetry, symmetry breaking, intelligent design, determinism, synchronicity, paired aspects, number theory.

I write on a variety of topics, including phenomena, history, religion and romantic science. I love writing because it is a way of being creative. I write to uplift society and to promote freedom of speech and expression and independence; to share knowledge; and to empower people. I also write critically. I am passionate about exposing deceit. It’s one way of empowering people. At other times, there may be no deceit but, there is a dearth of information on a topic for any number of reasons and here I may choose to write on that topic to increase knowledge and to advance discussion of that topic.

[Essays and other Writings]

I continue to read essays, articles and research papers.  In January of 2019 I decided to explore number theory and spent 3 years learning integer factorization methods, various math formulae and algorithms and I even programmed a hybrid text arbitrary precision calculator built into Microsoft Excel.

In political and religious activism, I try to learn more and to advance strategies. I continue to write essays and letters in this regard.

Religiously Speaking..

I am a practising Muslim and I value religious traditions and the 5 pillars of Islam. I was born into a Sunni Muslim family and I identify with Sunni Islam. I also identify with Hanif Islam, that is, the way of prophet Abraham that Prophet Muhammad was ordered in the Quran to follow (see Quran 3:95, 3:67 and 30:30).

Prophet Abraham found belief in God directly from nature. That is to say, to rationally and logically deduce from observing nature’s beautiful signs the existence of an independent and unique Creator who is the ever-living and eternal refuge. I have written about this in my essay Philosophical Belief in God, which can be read online at:
